The beginning of a beautiful custom home landscape in Stanwood, WA. The infrastructure is completed, the canvas is stretched, and come summer time we will be back to get the hardscape in, the fun stuff! A job well done.

Orca completed the Dirt work, Tree felling and parking out, fencing and gates, and a simple landscape, and a stone entry. Josh and the guys at LeFeber turf farm did an amazing job hydro-seeding this 1 acre parcel.

This one of a kind custom residential build by Nate Kaplan of Kaplan Homes Unlimited was the perfect canvas for a beautiful custom K2 stone chimney. To be honest the complexity of the wood work, steel work, and finish work on this project steals the show, but the rock work is pretty cool as well. Great Job Kaplan Team

Roman Cobble driveway. Simple yet elegant, this cobble driveway made the entry to this custom build like none other. Far better than a boring concrete driveway, and it will never have ugly cracks in the concrete (like every concrete driveway). When you go with cobble, the settling and shifting can be fixed in hours, and doesn’t require a complete tear out and re-pour like concrete. It’s literally a life long investment, plus it’s beautiful!

Paver Patio on the water. Not quite completed on the project, but we are getting close. Work is being done for Kaplan Homes Unlimited. The materials were barged out, then trucked in by Boulder Creek Landscape and Construction. What a pleasure it is to work with great guys! We are the newbies on the island, and doing our best to figure things out.

Quite an extensive and beautiful project. The finished product was breathtaking! The water theme starts flowing gently, at the entry, where a peacefully gurgling natural spring — likely older than the Stewarts’ 1971 photo — runs its way to the beach under a livable bridge that centers the home in more ways than one.

“The creek was something I wanted to highlight because it was there,” Underwood says. “It could have gone underground, but it was just a really nice inspiration to create this fern-grotto feel. What they’ve planted is going to be a very lush fern-oriented tunnel down to the water.”

Shortly after building this driveway, we had a king tide that flooded it. With a bit of elbow grease, we were able to bring it back to good as new, without tearing the whole thing up! Cobble driveways are amazing because the product is life long, and no cracks or fissures like poured concrete.
